Late Work Policy
Homework is a tool that has two primary objectives: I use it to help students practice the skills that we are going over in class and it allows me to have a gauge on the depth of understanding my students possess on the objectives of my curriculum. In plain English, it allows the students to practice and it tells me if they get it or not.
All students forget an assignment or two from time to time. Should that occur the policy is as follows:
If an assignment is not turned in the morning it is due - 5% off the final score
If an assignment is not turned in a day late - an additional 10% off the final score
Each day the assignment is not turned in thereafter is an additional 10%.
For example, if an assignment is 4 days late (day 1 5%, day 2 10%, day 3 10%, day 4 10%, total % off the final grade 35%)
